Harding and Smith, Inc. has been an influential force in the construction inductry since 1975. While originally established as a mechanical contractor providing process piping in the wast and water treatment industry, our fields of expertise have expanded to meet the growing needs of our customers. Our areas of expertise include: Mechanical Contracting, Plumbing/HVAC, Instrumentation and Control, Process Piping, and Electrical Installations for the institutional, municipal, power, pharmaceutical, and bio-technology industries.

Harding and Smith operates from a 21,000-square-foot office and fabrication shop located 30 minutes from Boston and Providence in Walpole, Massachusetts. Our staff consists of seasoned professiponal engineers, project managers and superintendents as well as younger project engineers and supervisors working under the direction of these managers to ensure a vibrant future for the firm.
In 1996, our plumbing and HVAC department was enhanced by the addition of management members of a highly regarded Boston plumbing and HVAC contractor since 1968. Their history includes projects in both the public and private sectors of the industry. This includes work at hospitals and science buildings, college administration buildings, dormitory buildings, laboratory buildings, library buildings, museum buildings, stadium and athletic facilities, waste and water treatment facilities, U.S. postal and other government facilities, retail shopping malls, office and medical office buildings, bridges, tunnels and highways all to the satisfaction of owner, architect, engineer, contractor and federal and local codes and ordinances.
We have utilized the latest CAD technology since 1990 and plan installations on paper to avoid costly jobsite confusion, which allows us to handle the most challenging and demanding projects.
Our ability to understand process systems enables us to be a valued team member on the job. We bring the mechanical insight to electronic instrumentation & controls and our experience in starting up process systems eliminates delay in realizing the productive capability of these facilities.
We have installed our I&C systems, panels and consoles in Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S.
