Dear Retiree,

The retirees club will resume its meetings on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 1240 Massachusetts Ave., Boston at 10:15 AM.  The speaker that morning will be Michele Ellicks, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Registry of Motor Vehicles.  Her presentation will be “Shifting Gears – Safe Driving For Elders”.

On Wednesday, April 21, 2010, we will meet at 10:15 AM at 1240 Massachusetts Ave., Boston.  The speaker will be Allan Banks from the National Park Service.  His lecture will be on Frederick Law Olmsted and the “Emerald Necklace”, a six mile network of ponds, parks and parkways that winds its way through Boston. 

The speaker on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, will be Dave Silk, former Boston University, U.S. Olympic and New York Ranger hockey player.  He will give a presentation on his experience as a member of the 1980 gold medal U.S. Olympic Hockey Team.

On Wednesday, June 16, 2010 we will meet at the WGBH Studios located at 1 Guest Street, Brighton, MA.  We will meet our docent in the Metcalf Lobby for an 11:00 AM tour.  Please arrive by 10:45 AM.  Free parking is available at WGBH’s visitor parking lot located at 1 Guest Street. Limited visitor parking is also available in the Brighton Landing Parking Garage on Guest Street.  These spaces are on the third floor and marked WGBH visitor parking.  This tour is limited to 30 participants.  A sign up sheet will be available at the March meeting.  If you are unable to attend that meeting and wish to take this tour, please contact Joe at 781-828-3889.  Directions to WGBH can be found by clicking here.

Dues are now payable for the calendar year 2010 and may be paid at any meeting or by forwarding a check in the amount of $12 payable to the Boston Plumbers Local #12 Retires Club to Joe Croce at 7 Tippy Cart Rd., Canton, MA 02021.
